一、教学目标与要求

通过本单元教学，学生了解莎士比亚名著《威尼斯商人》；学习一些相关的词语；复习动词不定式的用法。

二、教学重点与难点

1．重点词汇

2．重点句型

1)If you offered me six times what you have just offered, I would still take my pound of flesh．

2)It's useless trying to argue with Shylock．

3)The reason for this was that Antonio had many times scolded Shylock publicly for being greedy and cruel．

3．语法  复习动词不定式

1)作表语：She seems to be very happy．

2)作宾语补语： I wish you to come with me．

3)作定语： He was the first person to come．

4)作原因状语： I'm sorry to hear that.

5)作主语：To dance is a lot of fun．

6)作目的状语：We go to school to study.

三、难点讲解

1．Have mercy on Antonio．We should learn to show mercy to others．

have mercy on/upon sb., show mercy to sb．宽恕(怜悯)某人。例如：

1)He showed no mercy to the defeated enemy．他对被打败的敌人毫无怜悯之意。

2)Have mercy on us．请饶了我们吧。

2．If you offered me six times what you have just offered, I would still take my pound of flesh．

表示“倍数”：A is…times as + adj．+as +B

A is…times more than B

A is…times the size of B

1) This box is three times as big as that one．

2)This box is three times bigger than that one.

3) This box is three times the size of that one．
